◦ The processes and procedures involved in designing for screen.
◦ The relationship between designer and developer.
◦ The role and skill set of the developer (and where you would find a developer to work with).
◦ Research - what already exists in the design field, how innovative can you be
Deliverables
◦ Detailed wireframes/prototypes and mockups
◦ Where possible working/animated/navigable prototypes
◦ Design boards and blog posts, which articulate a thorough and informed approach to the brief. These must include; clearly written/interpreted brief, research, idea generation, development, and production.
I am really excited about this brief because it focuses on utilising a really wide range of programs and skills - web design, web layout, motion graphics, branding, print work and much more. These are all areas that I am fascinated about and am aiming towards working in after graduating. Whilst at college, I created an app that takes users through the history of London Underground stations, whilst acting as a real-time journey planner. The animations are fairly basic and were made when I was fairly inexperienced with Adobe After Effects. In this project, I would like to use my skills to produce a more engaging piece of motion graphics, which highlights the outcome made and design decisions taken.
