Stemming from the research made into internet addiction I put together a presentation that focuses on my social issue, highlighting the causes, consequences and possible solutions. I chose to name the issue as 'social media & mental health' because addiction has been proven to change the brain and affect people's health in various ways. To keep the presentation under 5 minutes I used short paragraphs of content, summarising why the overuse of social media is a problem and why it needs to addressed. The presentation produced, and presented, can be seen below. Imagery used focuses purely on device usage to visually fit with the issue theme.
The presentation went well and was kept under 5 minutes. Simon said that I have completed some successful research into the topic; however, I need to narrow my issue down so that it is less broad. Social media encompasses a massive area; therefore, I must try to focus on a particular area to ensure that my ideas and outcomes will effectively target and raise awareness of the problem. For this reason, I am going to re-read through my research made to try and find a more specific issue that could be addressed. Re-evaluating the research made, my topic is more about social media addiction and overuse than mental health issues. Therefore, topics related around this will be further explored. This can be seen in the following blog posts made.
