As I aim to complete this brief in 3 days, I only allocated one day to generate poster ideas. As I don't want to submit too many posters, idea generation has been kept very minimal. All the ideas have been informed entirely by the research previously made.
The first idea is to produce a poster that focuses on The Sun. This was informed by the 'Science' research made. The concept is to have 'Energy' type revolving around The Sun in a similar visual way to Saturn's rings.
The second idea is inspired by neon signage, and how it is a visually vivid, bright form of light energy. By using the 'Imagery' research made, the aim of the poster is to focus on combining the word with a lightning bolt symbol.
The third idea is to produce a set of heavily-focused typographic posters. Typography is one aspect of design that I have become a lot more interested in this year. Therefore, I think that it would be beneficial to produce a few posters that are focused on this interest. As 'Energy' is essentially spoken as 'N-R-G', I am inspired to experiment with this through type.
The sketches made are rough ideas that I will use to develop digital designs. As I want the posters to be entirely personal, I have not asked for feedback at this stage to allow myself to be as creative as possible. Furthermore, as I identified in the research stage that, in my perspective, energy is visually represented as being bright, vibrant and electric in colour, it is more appropriate to develop designs digitally first and then receive feedback, as brighter, more intense colours can be achieved. For these reasons, a range of digital posters will be developed in the following stage and then presented to a small crit group for feedback.
