OUGD603 - Brief 04 - Secret 7 - Outcomes & Evaluation
The final three sleeves have been amended to have a 3mm bleed on the top, right and bottom hand side, as desired by Secret 7. They have been submitted online to Secret 7" with a small description, website link and my details.
Completing a brief in such a short amount of time was really challenging; however, I thoroughly enjoyed the pressure. My research skills really helped in this project and allowed me to produce a range of ideas fairly swiftly. As outcomes are static and digital in format, the development stage was much faster than many other briefs completed in this module. Because of this, I was able to stick to the time plan set and complete the brief in just three days.
It was fun to experiment with illustration and photomontage in this project; these aren't areas that I'm looking to specialize in, but, feel that it is important to continue using different techniques to ensure work remains fresh and varied. The sleeves produced are all CMYK, they are under 10mb and have a 3mm bleed to ensure that none of the design is lost. In this sense, I have successfully answered the brief set. The feedback received by peers suggested that the dog and arrow sleeves are the most popular; therefore, it will be interesting to see whether the judges pick any of the sleeves to be featured.
If I had more time I would've liked to develop some more sleeves; however, I am very happy with the ones that I have produced and feel that they have been strongly informed by the song. Combining my design work with music is one aspect that I would like to further explore in my career.
