OUGD603 - Brief 05 - Event Identity - Brief Generation & Considerations



One of my greatest interests and main current money-earning job is DJing and music production. Having done it for a few years now, I have learnt a lot about the club industry and gained a fair few contacts. To try and combine my interests with Graphic Design I have chosen to focus a brief on working with internal and external students to create an identity for a new event in Leeds. The main criteria for the brief is as follows:



Brief - Develop a name and identity for a new event that would take place in an outdoor space in Leeds. The musical focus of the event would be electronic, but varied, featuring genres such as Disco, Dub, Drum & Bass, House, Garage, Jungle, Lofi, Techno and related areas. Resolutions should aim to appeal to young people and anyone interested in the nightlife scene/electronic events. Distribution and production methods need to be considered, alongside how the brand presence could be grown.

Deliverables:

•  A name for the event/company.
•  A full identity with brand guidelines and stationary.
•  A presence and marketing strategy.

Time Plan - To ensure that this brief is completed on time I have made a time schedule that the team will work with. This will ensure that we work to deadlines and respond to the brief within a week. Having to work so efficiently will push my skills to research and develop a range of ideas in such a short amount of time.
